E-BUSCO è un progetto innovativo pensato per aiutare le imprese in Spagna, Grecia e Italia a integrare più facilmente le energie rinnovabili nelle loro attività quotidiane.

Il progetto offre una risposta concreta a queste criticità: la cooperazione tra imprese per condividere risorse, come i sistemi di accumulo, consentendo una gestione più efficiente della produzione e del consumo di energia rinnovabile. Grazie a questo approccio, E-BUSCO migliora la redditività delle rinnovabili senza la necessità di costosi potenziamenti della rete elettrica.

This project offers a solution to these challenges: cooperation between companies to share resources, such as energy storage, allowing for more efficient management of renewable energy production and consumption. Thanks to this approach, E-BUSCO improves the profitability of renewable energies without the need for expensive expansions to the electrical grid.

Il progetto si svolge da settembre 2025 al 31 agosto 2028, con un budget complessivo di 1.840.614,00 €, cofinanziato dall’Unione Europea nell’ambito del Programma LIFE.

E-BUSCO è implementato attraverso tre Energy Cooperation Hub (ECH), situati in:

• Lorca (Spain)
• Athens (Greece)
• Valsesia (Italy)

Questi hub fungono da piattaforme regionali per coinvolgere le imprese, facilitare accordi di cooperazione e testare soluzioni pratiche per l’integrazione delle energie rinnovabili e i servizi di flessibilità.

Perchè è importante

Molte aziende stanno investendo in impianti fotovoltaici.
Tuttavia, permangono tre barriere strutturali:

• Saturazione del mercato e calo dei prezzi dell’energia
• Accesso limitato ai mercati della flessibilità
• Mancanza di coordinamento tra imprese limitrofe

E-BUSCO introduce modelli di business cooperativi che:

• Maximise the technical and economic viability of PV installations
• Enable participation in flexibility mechanisms
• Improve grid resilience at local level
• Increase long-term energy profitability

This is not just about installing solar panels.
It is about designing smarter energy ecosystems for businesses.

What the project does

LIFE E-BUSCO develops and tests cooperative energy schemes that combine:

• Shared renewable generation
• Energy storage systems
• Demand response participation
• Coordinated load management

The project creates Energy Cooperation Hubs (ECHs) in participating regions to:

• Train businesses
• Facilitate cooperation agreements
• Provide technical and regulatory guidance
• Support implementation of pilot actions

These hubs act as structured platforms where companies move from theory to operational energy collaboration.

Expected impact

By the end of the project, LIFE E-BUSCO aims to:

• Increase renewable energy uptake in the business sector
• Improve economic viability of photovoltaic installations
• Enhance local grid stability through coordinated flexibility
• Strengthen cooperation between companies and public actors
• Provide replicable models for other European regions

The project contributes to the EU clean energy transition while creating measurable business value.
