EnGreen presents an innovative initiative in collaboration with GAL- Maiella Verde to promote a Renewable Energy Community (REC) in a small village in Province of Chieti.
EnGreen has obtained the assignment for provision of services such as analysis of electrical and thermal consumption of public, private and residential buildings, photovoltaic systems design, drafting of the administrative file to support the establishment of the CER and social animation and visibility.
EnGreen collaborates with the Cultural Association “Montagne In Movimento” (MIM) operating in the accompaniment to the creation of project communities and social research activities. Three anthropologists and social scientists of MIM have started an immersive experience in the community spending five days in Civitaluparella to take care of the process of information, awareness and active involvement of citizens in the creation of the CER.
The Municipality of Civitaluparella aims to reduce dependence on long-distance energy trasmission through this revolutionary project. Thanks to its adequate size, Civitaluparella has the potential to become a virtuous case of local energy production and consumption, aiming to achieve energy self-sufficiency in the medium term through photovoltaic, hydroelectric and biomass sources.
These results promise to arouse great interest in sustainable tourism and academic research, stimulating innovation and raising awareness of the region’s values and its untapped potential.
Looking to the future, the Renewable Energy Community of Civitaluparella is preparing to be formed in the coming months and EnGreen will support it in the search for funds (e.g. PNRR) for the construction of photovoltaic systems.
