sharing<\/strong> through open-source platforms and real-world demonstrations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project develops <strong>consumer-centered strategies and digital tools<\/strong> to allow citizens, prosumers, and energy communities to actively participate in energy markets\u2014moving from passive consumption to active coordination and exchange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At its core, U2Demo tests how decentralized energy systems can become <strong>operational, scalable, and accessible<\/strong>, not just conceptual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Total project cost<\/strong>: \u20ac 4,999,883.13<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:31px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Why it matters<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Energy communities are growing fast across Europe\u2014but participation is still limited by <strong>complexity, lack of tools, and unclear value distribution<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today, most citizens cannot easily trade or share energy, even when they produce it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>U2Demo addresses this gap by building the infrastructure and rules needed to make <strong>energy democratization real<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>making energy exchange accessible<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ensuring fairness and transparency<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>enabling coordination with existing grid and market systems<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The shift is clear:<br>from owning energy assets \u2192 to <strong>actively managing and exchanging energy within communities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:31px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What the project does<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>U2Demo develops and tests a <strong>standardised, open-source architecture<\/strong> for P2P energy trading and energy sharing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Core activities include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Designing <strong>open-source digital platforms<\/strong> for energy sharing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Developing <strong>decision-support algorithms<\/strong> for consumers and prosumers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Integrating <strong>flexibility services<\/strong> (demand response, dynamic pricing, grid signals)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enabling <strong>secure transactions via blockchain<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Testing role<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Engreen leads the <strong>Italian pilot on P2P energy trading<\/strong>, implemented within a Renewable Energy Community directly managed on the ground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The role is fully operational:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>coordinating real users within the community<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>testing trading mechanisms in real conditions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>collecting data and feedback from participants<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>validating business models and replicability<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This positions Engreen at the
