{"id":889,"date":"2021-03-01T16:32:35","date_gmt":"2021-03-01T15:32:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.engreensolutions.com\/?p=889"},"modified":"2025-11-10T14:45:14","modified_gmt":"2025-11-10T13:45:14","slug":"umuco-witerambere-supporting-resilience-people-burundi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/engreen.world\/en\/umuco-witerambere-supporting-resilience-people-burundi\/","title":{"rendered":"UMUCO W\u2019ITERAMBERE: Supporting the resilience of the people of Burundi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The European Union funded the <strong>UMUCO W\u2019ITERAMBERE<\/strong> project as a part of a<strong> broader Resilience Program for Burundi<\/strong>, which was awarded to three consortia. <strong>EnGreen<\/strong> provided technical assistance to the consortium led by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.avsi.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>AVSI Foundation<\/strong><\/a> in partnership with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kirkensnodhjelp.no\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Norwegian Church Aid (NCA)<\/strong><\/a> for the access to electricity component, which aimed to provide access to a modern, efficient and <strong>sustainable basic energy service for rural populations<\/strong> of the country.<\/p>\n<p>The project targeted 28 hills in the provinces of Kayanza, Ngozi and Kirundo, by providing access to electricity for basic services to 25 schools (integrated with new productive hubs) and 7 health centers (integrated with new energy kiosks), as well constructing 12 Multi-Service Stations for productive activities.
