{"id":1081,"date":"2022-07-06T16:37:53","date_gmt":"2022-07-06T14:37:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.engreensolutions.com\/?p=1081"},"modified":"2025-11-10T14:45:02","modified_gmt":"2025-11-10T13:45:02","slug":"libraries-without-borders-solar-energy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/engreen.world\/en\/libraries-without-borders-solar-energy\/","title":{"rendered":"Ideas Cubes and Boxes as innovative education tools"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>EnGreen<\/strong> has collaborated with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bibliosansfrontieres.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Biblioth\u00e8ques Sans Fronti\u00e8res (BSF)<\/strong><\/a> in Burundi on bringing education to those who are more in need, also by means of innovative technical tools, such as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.starck.com\/ideas-box-libraries-without-borders-p3256\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Ideas Box<\/strong><\/a> \u2013 a media library in kit form designed by <strong>Philippe Starck<\/strong> \u2013 or the Ideas Cube \u2013 a digital and ultra-portable library.<\/p>\n<p>Specifically, EnGreen has collaborated with BSF within the framework of the <strong>Twige Neza<\/strong> project, financed by the <strong>Global Partnership for Education<\/strong> and managed by the <strong>French Development Agency<\/strong>, and the Ideas Box Initiative, a multi-country project (including Lebanon and Iraq, among others). Thanks to the complementarity between the two projects, BSF has identified 4 youth centers and 6 schools for the installation of Ideas Cubes and Ideas Boxes in the Rumonge, Bujumbura mairie, Makamba and Ruyigi provinces. The multimedia capabilities of these solutions clearly highlight the <strong>nexus between energy and education<\/strong>, with the need for safe, reliable, and sustainable energy sources, especially in off-grid areas.<\/p>\n<p>EnGreen has provided<a title=\"Services\" href=\"https:\/\/engreen.world\/en\/services-sustainable-development-project\/\"><strong> technical assistance<\/strong><\/a> to deploy such <strong>10 solar systems<\/strong> to be paired with the Ideas Cubes and Boxes, with a focus on the technical specifications for the tender dossier, as well as on the technical budget, procurement and contracting procedures.
