Position: Energy Project Manager

Duties and responsibilities
The Energy Project Manager will report to the COO.
He/she will work in the following type of projects:
– Research energy projects (e.g. Horizon Europe)
– Renewable energy projects in Developing Countries (advisory/consultancy and execution)
– Renewable energy projects in Italy (feasibility study, business development and execution)
– Renewable Energy Communities (REC) in Italy (community engagement, prosumers/consumers
aggregation)
He/she will have the following main duties and responsibilities:
– Defining methods and tools for execution of consultancy assignments and projects in the energy sector
– Managing staff and overseeing the day-to-day activities of consultancy assignments and projects in the
energy sector
– Managing external consultants, monitoring progress on deliverables under those contracts and
coordination of their work with the overall project implementation plan
– Carrying out high-level tasks related to consultancy assignments and projects he/she is managing
– Undertaking communication with clients and partners
– Preparing progress and final reports
– Supporting the COO in annual work plans and budgets
– Supporting proposal and tender writing
Essential skills and qualifications
– Advanced degree (Msc/MA) in Engineering/ Environmental Studies/ Energy Finance
– At least 5 years of experience in project management
– At least 5 years of experience in renewable energy sector
– Knowledge and understanding of the international development and cooperation context
– Previous experience in developing countries
– Language requirement: fluency in English + work proficiency in Italian
– Demonstrated ability in team management and collaboration
– Positive attitude to teamwork and strong motivation to lead high impactful work
Desirable skills
– Experience in off-grid systems
– Experience in design and site management of solar-PV projects
– Experience with key business development/project design tools (offers, theory of change, logical framework, etc.)
– Experience in both profit and non-profit sector
– Additional language requirement: French or Portuguese
